I had a lot of fun in this painting working with the idea of heat. I got to play with some fo the more expressionist mark making techniques that I was using in the Van Gogh / Munch paintings I did and I think it came out to great effect. I wanted to really feel that heat emanating from the battle axe and.the warm colors really bring the burn.
